The Institute of Transportation Studies (ITS) at UC Davis is a world leader in advancing sustainable transportation research, education, and outreach. As part of our commitment to developing the next generation of innovators, the Transportation Technology and Policy (TTP) Graduate Group hosts Mobility Quest (MobQuest) each year for incoming graduate students.
MobQuest is a three-day immersive expedition—designed and led by current students—that takes new students into the heart of the transportation world. They visit organizations like the California Department of Transportation, Amtrak, and leading electric vehicle manufacturers. Along the way, they meet industry leaders, policymakers, and practitioners, gaining firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities shaping transportation today.
More than just an introduction to the field, MobQuest builds community from day one—fostering mentorship, collaboration, and shared purpose. Alumni describe it as “eye-opening” and “the perfect way to kick off graduate school.”
We are raising $5,000 to ensure every student has access to this transformative launch into their graduate studies. Donor support will cover travel, lodging, and program materials—allowing students to begin their journey with an unparalleled real-world experience and the professional network to match.
