Join us to support Picnic Day during Give Day 2026
Picnic Day is an annual open house at UC Davis filled with spirit and tradition that brings together current students, families, alumni, staff, and the greater Davis community for a day of celebration. Picnic Day began in 1909, and has grown to become one of the largest student-run events in the United States with over 70,000 attendees, showcasing the inclusivity, originality, and radiant enthusiasm that bring the campus to life.
This year the theme of Picnic Day is The Journey Home: Destination Davis. It celebrates the many paths that lead us home to Davis and encapsulates the deep rooted connection to UC Davis and the city that students, employees, alumni and community members share. Paul Cody, this year’s parade marshal, will speak at the Parade, setting the tone of the Picnic Day spirit!
Your generous contributions will help bring unique events to the Davis community, as well as provide meals, supplies, professional development opportunities, and team-building retreats for our students. Our amazing team of 70 students work hard throughout the year to make Picnic Day and its 200+ events possible. From coordinating the parade, selecting performers, organizing safety arrangements, and marketing the event, we work to ensure every detail is thoughtfully cared for. In doing so, we aim to not only create a memorable Picnic Day experience on April 18th but also provide valuable opportunities for personal and professional growth, equipping our team with skills they will carry with them throughout their lives.
We hope you can join us in making Picnic Day 112 the best one yet!
