Graduate Studies: Cultivating Minds, Seeding Change
For 100 years, graduate students in Davis have driven discoveries, strengthened communities and expanded our understanding of the world. Today, UC Davis Graduate Studies supports nearly 7,000 master’s and doctoral students, and 1,000 postdoctoral scholars, who help fuel the research, creativity and teaching that define UC Davis as a leading research university.
But even the most promising scholars cannot thrive without stability. Nearly 35% of graduate students report experiencing food insecurity, a rate that has risen sharply in recent years.
The Graduate Student Pantry and the Graduate Student Emergency Fund offer vital lifelines. They provide nutritious food, essential items and immediate support in crisis situations. In Fall Quarter 2025 alone, the Pantry served over 1,000 students.
The Graduate Student Fellowship Fund provides the time and financial stability graduate students need to focus on their scholarship, helping accelerate discovery and the pursuit of bold ideas as they work toward their degrees.
Philanthropy makes this support possible. As UC Davis marks a decade of Give Day, your gift strengthens our safety net and ensures that graduate students — who already sacrifice so much in pursuit of work that benefits us all — can focus on their success rather than worrying about their next meal, unexpected bills or affording the time required to complete their degree.
This Give Day, you can help cultivate the next century of graduate education in Davis by investing in the well-being and potential of graduate students, ensuring they have the resources to drive change long into the future.
