The Cyber Security Club at UC Davis

The Cyber Security Club at UC Davis prepares the next generation of cybersecurity professionals through hands-on learning, competition, and community. We are a student-run organization open to all UC Davis students, from complete beginners exploring cybersecurity for the first time to experienced competitors preparing for careers in the field.

Our members build practical skills through Capture the Flag competitions, technical workshops, collaborative lab projects, and events such as CCDC. This year, our team placed 3rd at CCDC Regionals, competing against top universities in a challenge where students defended complex systems under real-world conditions.

We also operate an Infrastructure Team that builds and maintains the technical environment behind our training. Students gain experience configuring servers, managing networks, deploying services, and securing systems. Keeping this environment running requires reliable, high-speed internet, networking equipment, servers, and other hardware, and these costs are significant for a student-run club.

Gifts to our campaign provide general support for the Cyber Security Club at UC Davis, including our current priorities of paying for the cost of entry fees and travel, lab and networking hardware, internet and infrastructure expenses, and organizing free on-campus workshops where students from any major can learn cybersecurity fundamentals.
