Join us to support the Society of Biological Engineers Support Fund

The Society of Biological Engineers (SOBE) at UC Davis bridges the gap between academic study and professional development for students within the BAE Department. As the official Davis chapter of the national ASABE organization, SOBE enriches the college experience of 100+ students through career development workshops, academic support, industry connections, and community-building events. SOBE’s mission has always been to connect students with industry professionals and professors through tours, speakers, and networking events.

Your gifts will provide general support for SOBE, sustaining our mission to foster meaningful relationships and professional growth within our engineering community. Gifts will enable us to organize weekly events throughout each quarter, including our signature department-wide BBQs that bring together 200+ students, faculty, staff, and industry professionals for networking and celebration. Additionally, your gift will fund our mentorship program with hands-on engineering challenges that connect upperclassmen with new students, exam study nights, industry and campus laboratory tours, and stress-relief activities like plant pot painting workshops.

SOBE has experienced remarkable growth, with increasing student participation demanding expanded resources to serve every member effectively. Your support ensures we can continue providing free programming that creates lasting professional networks, academic support systems, and a welcoming community where students share experiences and find their place within bioengineering.
