Join us to support the American Society of Civil Engineers Support fund
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) chapter at UC Davis is a community of over 160 students interested in civil and environmental engineering. ASCE provides students a low-cost opportunity to build connections within the industry and gain invaluable experience to help inform their future careers. We are student-run, and our success relies heavily on our sponsors and donors.
Most of our funding goes towards supplies, registration, and travel for our members and seven project teams. Every ASCE member is actively involved in at least one project team, each of which focuses on offering students experience in a unique aspect of the field of civil engineering, such as water sanitation and construction management. These project teams compete against teams from other universities at various regional and national competitions. Teams design, troubleshoot, and construct a finished project - a culmination of their gained classroom knowledge and months of practical applications. One of our project teams, Steel Bridge, advanced to nationals this past year, placing 2nd for construction speed and 8th overall among the top 40+ teams in the nation.
We also use our funding to organize various academic and social events for students throughout the year, including contractor-led tours of significant engineering projects, professional workshops, networking opportunities with engineering professionals at our annual career fair, volunteering, community-building socials, and a mentorship program.
Please donate today! Any support for ASCE helps fund our project teams and keep our events thriving, promoting the professional success of our civil engineering students here at UC Davis.
