Join us to support the Graduate Association of Political Science Students (GAPSS) Fund

The Graduate Association of Political Science Students (GAPSS) is a student-run and student-serving registered organization that represents and supports all Political Science graduate students at UC Davis. We advocate for student needs, foster community, and provide professionalization opportunities across all cohorts and beyond. Our programming includes mentorship initiatives for current and prospective students, networking events with alumni and faculty, research workshops, and wellness-focused activities for graduate students.

Last year, we worked on developing programs like the Career Connect series (connecting students with alums and professionals), our Let’s Build Connections orientation events for first- years, and interdisciplinary speaker events with the Orange Cluster. We’ve also developed care packages, peer mentorship systems, and department-wide social gatherings to build a stronger, more inclusive student culture.

This year, we’re seeking $4,000 to expand our impact. We recently secured $1,000 from a Special Projects Grant from the GSA to further build out our mentorship programming, an AY 24-25 UCGPC priority issue. The funds from this crowdfunding period will further supplement our capacity to deliver structure, impact, and regularity to our annual programming. Our target initiatives include the Career Connect, quarterly professionalization workshops, graduate student mini-grants, conference prep workshops, and more integration support for incoming and international students. A successful crowdfunding campaign will give us the resources to invest in our members’ academic success and long-term career growth. Every contribution directly supports GAPSS in providing equity-driven and career-building resources for graduate students.
