The Cross Country and Track & Field Club at UC Davis is a student-run organization on campus that provides people with the opportunity to participate in athletics at a wide variety of levels, from the most casual, to the most competitive in club sports. The club is a fantastic outlet for students to make friends, destress, and pursue their athletic goals.

Every year, we compete at the NIRCA (National Intercollegiate Running Club Association) Cross Country Nationals, the pinnacle of club cross country. We are one of only two California schools that regularly sends a team to Nationals, despite the fact that California has one of the highest participation rates for high school cross country in the US.

This year it takes place in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Because it is out-of-state, travel is expensive; we need to book flights, hotels, and rental cars on top of paying race entry fees and NIRCA league dues. This makes the trip prohibitively expensive for many runners on the club, runners who will likely not get a chance to compete on a team like this after college.

Gifts to our project provide general support for the Cross Country and Track & Field Club at UC Davis, including our current priority of helping us bring as many athletes to Nationals as possible. This looks to be the year with our highest ever attendance, so funding for the trip is more important than it’s ever been.
