UC Davis Health Nurse-Led Mobile Clinic

SUPPORT the nurse-led mobile clinic will help us improve health equity for those who do not receive the care they need.

In 2023, the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis established the Nurse-Led Mobile Clinic. A provider van brings care to underserved populations while educating students on how to holistically care for vulnerable populations. Deb Bakerjian, associate dean for practice, leads the project.

The mobile clinic provides high quality, evidence-based health care to those living in urban underserved and rural communities. The project is staffed by the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing faculty, with students also having an opportunity to participate. Registered nurse, family nurse practitioner, psych mental health nurse practitioner and physician assistant students get hands-on learning of how to improve health outcomes for underserved populations.

The mobile aspect of care is people moving to where patients are. The focus is people who are unhoused, are refugees, are from low socioeconomic circumstances or are unaccompanied children. Our services cover local shelters and camps for unhoused individuals and will be teaming up with veterinary, literacy and housing programs.

A gift to the Nurse-Led Mobile Clinic stocks our van with necessary supplies and equipment like gas for the van, sanitation kits, vaccines, shelter from weather, PPE masks, thermometers, emergency medical kits, and much more.
