Neuromuscular Research Lab

We are the Neuromuscular Research Lab on the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento.

We are a team of physicians, scientists, coordinators, and kinesiologists that serve the muscular dystrophy population through clinical trials. We specialize in research for Duchenne, Becker, ALS, Limb-Girdle muscular dystrophy, and more! Our lab focuses on understanding the causes of the disease and their secondary conditions, improving preventative care, and developing therapies using state of the art technologies. We also work alongside worldwide leaders and pharmaceutical companies to design and conduct clinical trials.

We do a lot of science, BUT we also love our patients, encourage professional growth, and do all we can to support our muscular dystrophy population. Specifically your contributions will support neuromuscular research by helping staff attend research conferences and purchase up-to-date equipment that aids our research. Additionally, the funds that we receive will go toward various needs in our lab including, but not limited to:

• NMRL Scholarship Program – we want to support our patients who are committed to continuing education past high school
• Snacks, toys, and resources – for patients during appointments as visits can sometimes be up to 8 hours!
• Community support – donating to muscular dystrophy camps and foundations during times of need
• Purchasing up-to-date equipment – for functional assessments and testing
• Supporting NMRL Staff during educational growth opportunities – trainings, conferences, licenses, certifications
