We are the California Lambda chapter of Tau Beta Pi, the Engineering Honor Society at UC Davis. Founded as the second oldest honor society and the oldest engineering honor society in the United States, Tau Beta Pi recognizes those who have conferred honor upon their Alma Mater through distinguished scholarship and exemplary character as students, or through their attainments as alumni in the field of engineering.

We strive to support and engage the engineering community both on and off campus. We organize events that promote academic excellence, professional development, and community service. Our primary outreach consists of weekly tutoring nights for engineering students, providing one-on-one assistance in STEM subjects. We also plan service projects such as campus cleanups and volunteering with local organizations, including the Yolo Food Bank.

In addition, we host professional development and networking events, such as industry sessions with companies like FAST Enterprises, to connect students with potential employers. We organize speaker panels where engineers, researchers, and academics share guidance and career advice. Off campus, we engage with the community: connecting with neighboring Tau Beta Pi chapters and providing STEM outreach for local high schools, including college preparation workshops and hands-on engineering challenges.

We are fundraising to support these outreach and engagement programs. Donations to our campaign will provide general support for Tau Beta Pi, including our current priorities of paying for materials, travel, and event costs, allowing us to continue helping the community. Funds will be used for touring engineering facilities, speaker events, awards honoring outstanding professors, inter-chapter networking, promotion and improvement of weekly tutoring, and STEM outreach materials in local schools.
