This campaign has ended. However, you may still support the Project RISHI at UC Davis fund here.
Project RISHI (Rural India Social and Health Improvement) at UC Davis aims to uplift and serve rural communities in India through service and education. By partnering with local NGOs and nonprofits, we work within communities to understand and address essential developmental challenges through research and targeted initiatives.
Our goal is to create sustainable change by addressing disparities and improving the quality of life of these rural communities. Each project team works on 1-2 major projects throughout the year, covering a variety of disciplines - including environmental health, financial literacy, preventative health, women's health, and computer literacy. Our team then travels to India to implement projects and see the first hand impact of their work on local communities.
Financial literacy is working on a micro-loans curriculum for female entrepreneurs. Computer literacy is creating a medication tracking app for patients. Environmental health created an environmentally sustainable practices curriculum for rural schools. Preventative health created an informational video on bone marrow transplants for hospitals. Lastly, women’s health and youth initiatives are focusing on menstruation education.
Gifts to our project provide tremendous support for Project RISHI at UC Davis, primarily for our goal of driving these vital initiatives and creating sustainable changes and benefits to those in need. By supporting us, you are investing in a future where rural communities in India thrive through empowerment, education, and sustainable development.
Join us in making a tangible difference in these communities and be a part of this remarkable journey towards holistic improvement!
