This campaign has ended. However, you may still support the Pi Sigma Alpha Chapter Support Fund here.
The UC Davis chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, was inactive for decades. In 2024, a small group of students revived the chapter from scratch without funding, institutional memory, or existing infrastructure. Within our first quarter back, we were recognized by the national organization as a Best Chapter in the Nation.
Our goal is simple: to give political science students at UC Davis meaningful opportunities to engage with public service, policy, and civic life beyond the classroom. Since relaunching, we’ve hosted guest speakers from state and local government, organized civic engagement events, and built a community for students interested in law, public policy, research, and public service.
However, student organizations today face significant financial barriers. Cuts to public higher education and limited university funding mean that nearly all of our programming relies on external support. Without stable funding, our ability to host speakers, send students to conferences, and sustain long-term programming is limited.
Funds raised through this campaign will be used to:
- Bring policymakers, journalists, and scholars to campus
- Support student attendance at academic conferences
- Fund civic engagement and service projects, including our planned Spring Civic Engagement Fair, which we aim to be the largest civic engagement fair in University history.
Every contribution directly supports student opportunities and helps ensure that Pi Sigma Alpha remains an active, accessible, and impactful part of campus life. This campaign is an investment in the next generation of public servants, researchers, and civic leaders at UC Davis.
