🗒️About

This campaign has ended. However, you may still support the Nurse-Led Mobile Clinic Support Fund here.

Nurse-led care is mobile.

At the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis, our nurse-led mobile clinic delivers high-quality, evidence-based health care directly to communities that face the greatest barriers to access it. By providing care to patients, the clinic helps close gaps in health care across both urban and rural settings.

Led by Deb Bakerjian, Associate Dean for Practice, the integrative Nurse-Led Mobile Clinic serves individuals who are unhoused, living in low socioeconomic circumstances, or unaccompanied children. The clinic meets patients where they are, providing compassionate, holistic care that addresses both immediate health needs and the social factors that shape long-term well-being.

Staffed by experienced faculty from the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis, the mobile clinic also plays a vital role in educating the next generation of health care professionals. Registered nurse, family nurse practitioner, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, and physician assistant students gain hands-on experience delivering person-centered care to vulnerable populations, learning how to practice with empathy, cultural humility, and an equity-focused lens.

The program’s overarching goal is to improve health outcomes and advance health equity for underrepresented communities. It leverages the clinical expertise of Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing faculty and long-standing partnerships with the Sacramento County Public Health Center to ensure care is responsive, collaborative, and sustainable.

A gift to our campaign stocks our van with necessary supplies and equipment like gas for the van, sanitation kits, vaccines, shelter from weather, PPE masks, thermometers, emergency medical kits, and much more.

With continued community support, the nurse-led mobile clinic can expand its reach, strengthen educational opportunities, and ensure more people receive the care they deserve—wherever they are.
