This campaign has ended. However, you may still support the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) Support Fund here.
The Graduate Student and Postdoctoral SACNAS Chapter at UC Davis is a graduate student- and postdoctoral scholar-run organization dedicated to increasing the number of underrepresented students in higher education and in science. Your donation would support graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in attending the nation’s leading multicultural and multidisciplinary STEM conference, the National Diversity in STEM (NDiSTEM) Conference, to be held in Long Beach, CA. NDiSTEM equips attendees with professional development opportunities, mentorship networks, and exposure to cutting-edge research. While the conference location makes travel more accessible, registration, lodging and poster printing costs remain significant barriers for many trainees.
Your support will enable UC Davis students and postdoctoral scholars to participate in this transformative conference. Attendees will have the opportunity to present their research, connect with mentors and potential employers, attend professional development sessions, and engage with over 500 career opportunities in the Exposition Hall. For many attendees, NDiSTEM is their first time presenting research at a national conference or meeting scientists who share their lived experiences. Donations to our campaign provide general support for SACNAS, including our current priority of covering costs for conference registration, lodging, transportation and poster printing. Chapter members who previously attended NDiSTEM have presented their research, won outstanding oral and poster presentation awards, and secured internships with biotech companies exhibiting at the conference.
By donating, you are opening doors and investing in UC Davis students and postdoctoral scholars as the next generation of STEM leaders.
Your support ensures access to transformative professional development and career opportunities in STEM.
