This campaign has ended. However, you may still support the SVM Accessible Veterinary Care Program Support Fund here.
The Accessible Veterinary Care Program (AVC) needs your help to launch our patient care fund. The patient care fund will be used to offset the cost of veterinary services for pets whose owners can not afford needed medical care. Your gift of any amount will be applied directly to patient care that can save animal lives and keeps pets with the families that love them.
We believe that anyone should have access to the special love of a companion animal and that, in order to make that possible for all families, that it is the responsibility of the veterinary profession to support pet owners from all walks of life in caring for their companion animals.
While UC Davis Accessible Veterinary Care programs currently support over 5,000 animals a year with basic preventative care (spaying and neutering and basic vaccinations) we frequently work with families whose animals need care beyond what our wellness clinics can provide. For example, dental procedures are needed by nearly all older pets and yet most of our AVC clients can not access this service at all due to the cost. As we work to increase the capacity of our AVC clinics to address the critical back log of need in Northern California, we want to establish the patient care fund to allow us to help even more animals.
Our efforts are focused in Yolo County and our clients include veterans, senior citizens and vulnerably housed individuals and families. Because we work to keep the costs of care as low as possible, a gift of any amount can have a meaningful impact in the life of a beloved pet companion.
