Support The CARE Project Fund!
The CARE Project enhances the well-being of adult patients at UC Davis Medical Center by offering therapeutic services such as Art Therapy, Reiki, Touch Therapy Massage, and Pet Therapy throughout the hospital. This initiative creates opportunities for self-expression, relaxation, and recreation, fostering independence and enhancing quality of life through evidence-based clinical interventions and therapeutic activities.
Through special events and the dedication of volunteers, The CARE Project provides bedside haircuts for patients, organizes music performances in the lobby, celebrates culturally significant occasions, decorates rooms for antepartum patients, hosts support groups for visitors and patients, and much more!
This donor-funded program is offered at no cost to all adult patients in the hospital. Your generous contributions help sustain incredible interventions available to patients, including bedside Reiki or massage sessions, legacy-building art interventions for those nearing the end of life, and our most popular service—visits with certified therapy dogs! Join us in our holistic approach to healthcare as we nurture the mind, body, and spirit of every individual.

For a small program, we’re making a big impact! Since April 2024, we’ve gathered some powerful data showing the difference your donations make. In just 10 months, we’ve provided over 1,000 bedside sessions, serving 70.5% of our referrals. However, that still leaves nearly 30% of patients without the care they need. In honor of Valentine's Day this week, we have an array of exciting events lined up for our patients, visitors, and staff. We are particularly thrilled to offer live music in our lobby almost every day this week—a record for our hospital! In addition to performances on our grand piano, we will also welcome the Music Therapy Club from UC Davis to perform on Valentine's Day.
