Danzantes del Alma (DDA), is a Ballet folklorico retention program on campus housed under the Cross Cultural Center at the University of California, Davis. DDA promotes cultural awareness, student leadership, inclusivity, and artistic expression through the beautiful art of folklorico.

The program was created in 1977 as a result of student activism and has continued to grow over the years. Our current troupe consists of 70 members, 14 of which make up the student board. Throughout the academic year, our troupe members engage in weekly practices, perform at community events, participate in photoshoot, and actively work towards creating our annual show which takes place during Spring Quarter at the UC Davis Mondavi Center.

We showcase traditional dances from various states and regions of Mexico and invite the community to join us. For the entire month of February we will be raising funds that will alleviate some of the costs associated with the functions of our program.

Your donation will help cover the costs of instructor fees, wardrobe purchases (repairs & maintenance fees), stipends for student board members, photographer and videographer fees, props for our annual show, live music for our annual show, among many others. We appreciate any and all donations. If you are unable to donate at this time, please share our crowdfunding page with friends and family.
