Support the Engineers Without Borders Student Support Fund!
Engineers Without Borders at UC Davis is a student-run organization that provides sustainable infrastructure for developing communities. Donations provide general support to our organization, including our current priority of funding the development of clean water infrastructure in Saparcon Bajo, Peru, and community latrines in Parque Colani, Bolivia.
In Peru, our springbox design will draw water from a local spring and provide clean water for community members. The funds for this project will be used to implement the springbox, paying for the labor and expertise of an in-country partner organization. Funding for this project is crucial for concluding the implementation efforts from 6 years of partnership with the Sapracon Bajo community.
In Bolivia, the community latrines dispose of human waste in a sanitary manner helping reduce the spread of disease. By raising funds for this project, implementing the construction of the latrines is made possible by purchasing locally sourced materials and hiring in-country labor. The impact of these funds will improve sanitation for community members and support the local economy of nearby businesses and laborers.
These projects are impactful not only to those we’re serving abroad, but also to the students who work to design, plan, communicate, fundraise, and serve using academic skills. Everyone should have access to resources that sustain a healthy lifestyle, and our projects help make that possible. With the help of our donors, we can continue to work with these communities to provide them with their basic needs.
