Gifts to Pediatric Diabetes: Supporting Families with Groundbreaking Research contribute to...
Please support the Pediatric Endocrinology Support fund!
Some children with type 1 diabetes experience changes in memory and development - but why it happens and how to prevent it remains a mystery.
UC Davis is part of a first-of-its-kind National Institute of Health (NIH) study to understand how type 1 diabetes affects brain and cognitive development in young children. Participants, ages 4 to 9, will complete extensive learning assessments and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRIs) while their glucose levels, sleep, exercise, and other factors are tracked over several years. It’s a landmark study with the potential to transform care—and families are the key to making it happen.
Families commit years to this research. Your gift provides general support to the pediatric endocrinology program, including our current goal of easing the commitment of patients and their families by providing hotel stays, meals, small thank-you gifts, and more. These families are giving so much. Your generosity gives something back.
